How to Find Us

Markham Grange Steam Museum is conveniently situated just off the A1 and A1(M) (Junction 38) between Wakefield and Doncaster in South Yorkshire.

The Steam Museum is in the large building at the far end of the Garden Centre car park.

From the north (A1)

Leave the A1 (Jn. 38 A1(M)) and join the A638 towards Doncaster. After about ½ mile, turn right onto Ridge Balk Lane, signposted Markham Grange (next to the 40 mph sign).

Follow this road, which leads onto Long Lands Lane, for about ¾ mile. Look for a phone mast, which is at the entrance on the left.

From the south (A1(M))

Leave the A1(M) at Jn. 38 and turn immediately left towards Brodsworth. You will come to a four road junction, with a phone mast and substation on the corner. Turn left here onto Long Lands Lane, over the motorway, and the entrance is immediately on the right.

From Doncaster (A638)

Follow the A638 through Woodlands, passing the shops on the right. At the crossroads traffic lights continue straight on and then, after about 100 metres, turn left onto Ridge Balk Lane, signposted Markham Grange (next to the 50 mph sign).

Follow this road, which leads onto Long Lands Lane, for about ¾ mile. Look for a phone mast, which is at the entrance on the left.
